The Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) at MIT, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), was established in 1994 as the core program of the MIT Center for Materials Science and Engineering (CMSE) with the clear and important mission to foster collaborative, interdisciplinary research and education in the science and engineering of materials that will address the future needs of society. CMSE operates four Shared Experimental Facilities (SEFs) on the MIT campus for the analysis and processing of materials: * Materials Analysis SEF (Surface, Thermal, and Optical) * Electron Microscopy SEF * Crystal Growth SEF * X-ray Diffraction SEF CMSE....
